~Voices of the Soul~
Soul Seers Novella #1
by
Rene Folsom
***
*****

~Synopsis~

Throughout her entire life, Ella has heard voices.  Voices inside her head.  She’s never given much thought as to why she has this gift… or this curse, depending on which way you look at it.  It’s not until she meets the mysterious Jonah that she begins to question her inherited abilities as a Soul Seer.
Learning to deal with loss and love, Ella manages to live a seemingly normal life… or so she thought.

~Excerpt~

Slowly, things started to change. The night sky still shone with brilliance as the stars twinkled overhead like crystalline tears, but the trees and branches no longer obstructed my view. I could feel a chill run through my body, but Jonah’s warmth next to me made it bearable.
The stars began to multiply and were shining so bright, the sky actually looked to be a deep midnight blue. I could even see the misty flow of the Milky Way. Just below the swath of stars was Jupiter, shining radiantly. The fields of stars were so brilliant and plentiful, I could have swore we were floating through space. Nothing else around us but the dazzling stars, like tiny little holes in the floor of heaven.
“Come on, Ella. Let’s stand up,” Jonah said as he knelt beside me with an outstretched hand.
As I stood, I somehow knew where we were. Not because Jonah told me, but because he knew. His thoughts were not separate from mine. Our thoughts were one, together, up at the top of Mauna Kea in Hawaii. The snow-capped mountaintop summit is one of the most popular places in the world to gaze at the stars.
We took several moments to take in what was quite possibly the most dramatic and stimulating scenery I have ever experienced. Stargazing at the heavens, I could see from Polaris to the Southern Cross, along with all the planets and constellations I have learned to identify over the years.
“Isn’t it breathtaking?” Jonah asked, as he held onto me tight and stared up at the starlit sky.
Looking at him, I could see the reflection of stars in his eyes, like diamonds dripping from the universe and winking at me through this beautiful man.

After many years in the design industry, capturing the attention of the reader with great graphics was no longer her only goal. While her artistic side will always be her source of inspiration, Rene has found that branching out into the literary world with her heartfelt, romantic, and rather steamy stories by combining her love of art and reading was just the next step in her journey.
Being a mother of three and wife of one, Rene has had to juggle career, kids, family, grocery shopping, and stain removal. Years of experience have provided her plenty of creative material to work with. Using both words and design, taking these very different experiences and bringing them all to paper has proven to be quite enjoyable for both writer and reader alike.
Obtaining her degree from Santa Fe State College in Gainesville, Florida, Rene studied everything from fine arts to sculpture and vocals, but found her true artistic inspiration when she took off to Italy after graduation.
Still residing on the beaches of sunny Central Florida, Rene Folsom now adds the title of “author” to her belt, providing contemporary and paranormal romance stories to her readers. ~MY REVIEW~

Ella has a very special gift.  Her mother is on her death bed and needs to tell Ella of this special gift before it is too late.
Ella has heard voices through out her life, but never really knew what was taking place in her mind.
Six years after her mothers death, Ella sits in her art class distratced.......until he walks in.......Jonah Chantrey that is.
Suddenly Ella's thoughts are running rapid for this sexy hunk.  He responds without saying a word aloud.
Can it be that Ella and Jonah have the same gift?
Yes they discover they are both Soul Seers.

They spend the next couple of hours walking, talking and grabbing a bite to eat.  Comparing their soul seeing abilities with one another.
An instant connection is formed and Ella and Jonah make fast plans for a date.

Jonah takes Ella to a stable for a beautiful night ride on two gorgeous horses.  They end up at a lake with the moons reflection bouncing off of the rippling water.

Here Ella and Jonah experiment with their soul seeing capabilites and this is where it goes beyond what we expect.........I am not a reviewer to whom of which gives the best parts away.

What happens next will leave you in shock and awe of Rene's writing talents.
Rene's imagination takes us on a captivating~mind blowing~soul shattering journey.
The love and elements of surprise will leave you breathless.

Textual Encounters by Morgan Parker

~Synopsis~

Katie discovers an unlocked iPhone in the back seat of a taxi. But instead of turning it in to the driver as lost, she decides to keep it for herself.

Outside of the usual clutter you would expect to find on a smartphone, what captures Katie's interest is the single conversation she finds on the phone's secure text messaging service, a three-month dialogue between a woman with an uncertain past named Christine and a single, eligible man named Jake.

From Strangers to Soulmates in 90 Days

What starts out as a message intended for someone else ends up being the beginning of a relationship more powerful than anything Christine or Jake have ever experienced.

But nothing ever turns out to be as good as it initially seems and their histories slowly reveal details and past lovers that threaten to derail their humble quest for love.

Forgotten In The Back Seat of a New York City Taxi

Can Christine and Jake overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacles, doubts and secrets that endanger their love?

If so, why would such a relationship get forgotten in the back seat of a New York City taxi?

Presented in a Format Unlike Any Other You Will Find

Follow Katie as she reads through the 3 months of conversations that form The Christine + Jake Affair and provide the foundation for the Textual Encounters Trilogy.

~My Review~

It all starts when a college student Katie finds a cell phone in the back seat of a cab. Katie begins to scroll through the texts and is immediately captivated and intrigued.
Katie starts the ninety day journey of Jake and Christine's text messages. She has no idea how emotionally drained she will be at the end of the heated love story. It takes Katie on a ride she will never forget. There are so many up and downs that it leaves us asking more questions and what Jake and Christine's motives might be through out the book.

The love affair starts by an accidental text sent to Christine from Jake. This is the beginning of their three month affair that neither one of them saw coming.

We soon learn that one of them has been lying to the other. This textual encounter takes a twist and turn of pure shock and wonder. It leaves us with a major cliffhanger that left me wishing the next was in my grasp.

I have never read anything like this. I wasn't sure if I would liked it based upon the text dialogue between Jake and Christine. I will be the first to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised.
It was very well written by Morgan Parker. I am definitely ready for the next installment.

I give Textual Encounters 4 NarlyNut Moons

As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

~Julia Crane Bio~

Julia Crane is the author of the Coexist: Keegan’s Chronicles. She has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Julia has believed in magical creatures since the day her grandmother first told her an Irish tale. Growing up her mother greatly encouraged reading and using your imagination. Although she’s spent most of her life on the US east coast, she currently lives in Dubai with her husband and three children.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q)    What are you working on now?
A)  I’m really excited, because I just started Rourk. A continuation of Keegan’s Chronicles. Rourk will be deeper and darker.
Q)    Who is your favourite hero/heroine/character from your own books? What about of all time?
A)  That’s a hard one. Right now it’s a tossup between Rourk and Kaitlyn. Of all time, goodness, I would have to say Dagny from Atlas Shrugged. Her character has always stuck with me and I’ve read the book at least three times.
Q)    If you could have take one of your book boyfriends out on a date in the real world, who would it be & where would you go?
A)  I would say Rourk, but he’s far too young for me, so Keegan’s Father Richard. A lot of his characteristics resemble my husbands. Ideal date would be a long weekend somewhere I’ve never been and a lot of time outdoors. No kids!
Tell me the first word that comes to mind when you think of the following;
Lucas and Kaitlyn begin to feel things for one another and Kaitlyn starts to realize that she has emotions. She starts to feel things she otherwise shouldn't be able to feel. The time Lucas and Kaitlyn spend together bring them close and they begin to fall in love.
There are big things in the way of them being together. Her past is a the biggest part. She thinks of herself as a "Freak Of Nature." Lucas sees nothing but a beautiful woman before him.
Dr. Harrington the money behind the project will be their biggest obstacle. He is the money behind the project, the boss if you will. Once he decides Kaitlyn is ready, he will hand her over to the government for military research and combat.
Lucas and Kaitlyn will have to find a way to be together and live a life as simple as they can strive for. Will it ever be normal? That is the burning question.......
This book had me at "Hello." So to speak. lol
The elements that Julia has brought into this book are intriguing. She takes you on the highs and lows of this journey and your heart roots for Kaitlyn and Lucas.
Her recent brush with death has made Skye realize that life is precious and she wastes no time telling the one she loves how she feels about him. But, Amun finds out that someone interfered with Skye's transformation and the intrusion makes him livid. He gives Skye 7 days to come to him or he threatens to begin killing the ones she loves most. Will Skye be able to survive long enough to enjoy her new life now that Amun is hunting her and everyone she loves? Don't miss Legacy of Blood, the fourth installment in the popular Skye Morrison Vampire Series brought to you by author J.L. McCoy.
~My Review~
Oh how I longed for this book.  This has become one of my favorite series of all time and J.L. McCoy does not disappoint.
Skye Morrison awakens and yes she is a vampire.  Not just any vampire, a special kind of kick ass vampire.  She is so special that when she feeds off of another human being, well lets just say it is a mind blowing, hot experience.  It is mucho caliente!
Skye is immediately thrown into a world of confusion and having to prove herself to those around her including the An Dilis (The Faithful).  Not to mention the fact that she is learning about herself, what she can do and how to control these new abilities.
Skye is watched by a guard named Oleif.  She is not allowed to be out of his sight.  Skye must face some true tests and prove that she is not of Amun's kind.  She must pass these tests in order for the the An Dilis to let her live. During these tests Skye will learn many things about herself.
Eventually Skye has to help the An Dilis lure Amun to them.  This doesn't go so well the first go around. The fight scene that takes place the second time between Amun, Skyes vamp family and the An Dilis is gruesome, action packed and awesome!
There are many crazy obstacles Skye faces with her loved ones.  When Trey comes up missing, Skye will do anything to save him from Amun.
The hot and sexy love scene I have been waiting for.....finally happens.  It left me breathless and wanting more.  Archer is the sexiest vamp I would like to know and oh does he give it good. *laughs*
I love what J.L. McCoy did with the end of this book and once again refuse to give any of it away.
I also want to add that this was the most impressive and beautiful cover of all.  My absolute favorite.
J.L. McCoy gave us what we wanted and has taken a step into the most awesome direction imaginable.  She is on a path of absolute genius with these characters in my opinion and has of course left me begging for more.
Meet Lindsay Avalon!
I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.
My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.
When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading, baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts.
