Legacy Of Blood by J.L. McCoy
~Synopsis~
Skye Morrison begged for death. Fortunately, someone didn't listen. Skye awakens to discover she has been irrevocably changed and the unprecedented circumstances of her rebirth have now created a new threat to her very existence. Sired by both the monster Amun and the vampire Archer Rhys, Skye must prove to the army of An Dilis (The Faithful) whose essence is most dominant within her and that she is not a danger to them or society. The Faithful soon discover that she is unlike any vampire ever created before as she struggles to adjust to her new life and the changes that come with it. Her recent brush with death has made Skye realize that life is precious and she wastes no time telling the one she loves how she feels about him. But, Amun finds out that someone interfered with Skye's transformation and the intrusion makes him livid. He gives Skye 7 days to come to him or he threatens to begin killing the ones she loves most. Will Skye be able to survive long enough to enjoy her new life now that Amun is hunting her and everyone she loves? Don't miss Legacy of Blood, the fourth installment in the popular Skye Morrison Vampire Series brought to you by author J.L. McCoy.
~My Review~
Oh how I longed for this book. This has become one of my favorite series of all time and J.L. McCoy does not disappoint.
Skye Morrison awakens and yes she is a vampire. Not just any vampire, a special kind of kick ass vampire. She is so special that when she feeds off of another human being, well lets just say it is a mind blowing, hot experience. It is mucho caliente!
Skye is immediately thrown into a world of confusion and having to prove herself to those around her including the An Dilis (The Faithful). Not to mention the fact that she is learning about herself, what she can do and how to control these new abilities.
Skye is watched by a guard named Oleif. She is not allowed to be out of his sight. Skye must face some true tests and prove that she is not of Amun's kind. She must pass these tests in order for the the An Dilis to let her live. During these tests Skye will learn many things about herself.
Eventually Skye has to help the An Dilis lure Amun to them. This doesn't go so well the first go around. The fight scene that takes place the second time between Amun, Skyes vamp family and the An Dilis is gruesome, action packed and awesome!
There are many crazy obstacles Skye faces with her loved ones. When Trey comes up missing, Skye will do anything to save him from Amun.
The hot and sexy love scene I have been waiting for.....finally happens. It left me breathless and wanting more. Archer is the sexiest vamp I would like to know and oh does he give it good. *laughs*
I love what J.L. McCoy did with the end of this book and once again refuse to give any of it away.
I also want to add that this was the most impressive and beautiful cover of all. My absolute favorite.
J.L. McCoy gave us what we wanted and has taken a step into the most awesome direction imaginable. She is on a path of absolute genius with these characters in my opinion and has of course left me begging for more.
