"The Gathering"
by
S.L Dearing
Synopsis
Thirteen years after the last world war, the village of Lia Fail sits peacefully above the Hollywood Reservoir in the Santa Monica Mountains. The village is making ready for the fall Gathering, where the other colonies from various parts of what was once Southern California visit for ten days of fun and reminiscence. What begins as a normal Gathering, soon changes as the people of Lia Fail begin to see magic around them. Then they receive news of a horrific massacre and face a nightmare as a dark evil descends on the tranquil village. Alia Stark, the queen of Lia Fail, must face this evil along side her oldest and dearest friends as well as an incredible new ally as the fate of her people and the lives of her children rest in her hands. Will her new magic be strong enough to save those she loves the most?
My Review
Lia Fail means the great stone of destiny.
Just a tad bit of history for you before I give you my review. To me this was an important thing to know.
S.L. Dearing has brought so many elements to this story line. It is every
Romance~Villains~Mythical Creatures~and of course Love.
In a post apocalyptic world this medieval fantasy brings other families together from different villages. This is known as "The Gathering."
Alia Stark is a headstrong queen of Lia Fail. She has 11 kids. In this book you get to know them one by one. They will captivate your heart. You will take the journey along with them and they're mother. Love will be found among many and villains are exposed.
Little do they know there is an evil force that desperately wants something from Alia. A gift that Alia doesn't even know she has hidden within her.
Alia will discover the goddess that is waiting to be unleashed.
This book is a definite must read! I can't say that enough. I was on my toes until the very end. Turning page after page with the anticipation of what would happen next. I was rooting for the characters in this book and for they're fight and will to survive.
The last few chapters literally gave me chills.
I was beyond saddened that it came to and end.
Then I brought myself back to reality and realized that S.L. Dearing is working on book 2.
I cannot wait for it and you will feel the same way.

Save The Date Magnets
About a month ago, I was offered to do a product review from http://www.buildasign.com/
I thought about how fun it would be to have my book page logo on something.
They gave me the choices of: -
25 bumper car magnets - 50 bumper car stickers - 3′ x 6′ vinyl banner - 250 Business Cards - $25 gift card for you to review whatever you’d like I couldn't help but choose the bumper car magnets.
Why you ask? Well I would be able to utilize these much more. Not only can I give them out to friends and family, but I can also give a few away to fellow book lovers. That way it gets my page out there and seen even more. Not to mention I am a sucker for magnets! As a matter of fact, I have one on my refrigerator already!! Yes, I LOVE THEM!!!
Let me show you the picture that was uploaded to Build A Sign of my book page. After that I will show you the final product. Then you can judge for yourself and I will tell you what I think of them.
The finished product~
So as you see there is a bit of a difference, but not much. There is more white trim showing than what I thought would be. Other than that, I really have no complaints. I believe http://www.buildasign.com/ did a fantastic job. The quality is awesome and my camera really doesn't do it justice. Even my 5 year old is loving the one on the refrigerator. I made it very clear that is the ONLY one she can play with. The rest are mama's and I absolutely love them. I will order from http://www.buildasign.com/ again and again. What a fabulous company! Thank you Build A Sign!

Excerpt
In an attempt to lighten the mood, I changed the subject. Uncrossing my legs, I planted my feet slightly apart in front of me and propped my elbows on my knees.
“I also brought some fruit… grapes and strawberries.” I smiled big at my attempt to be sweet.
“Ahh. Actually, grapes would be great, but I’m allergic to strawberries,” he said with a bashful look on his face.
“Oh, what a shame,” I said with a hint of seduction in my voice. “Because they’re very plump and juicy. I just love strawberries.”
“Oh, you do, do you?” he teased.
I nodded, biting my lip out of nervousness with what I was about to do.
Then, I did the most daring thing I could think of.
I grabbed one of the strawberries and slowly brought it to my mouth. I parted my lips and thrust my tongue slightly out to meet with the delicious red morsel. I bit down while sucking the juices slowly. My eyes fluttered and rolled shut as I enjoyed the delicious flavors bursting onto my taste buds. Seductively, I flicked the leftover green cap into the grass beside us, then began licking and sucking on the two fingers that were covered with the sticky juice.
After enjoying each slow chew, I opened my eyes to gaze upon a man with power and hunger in his eyes. Hunger for me.
The next thing I knew, Aiden was on his hands and knees, methodically making his way towards me.
Out of sheer instinct, I backed away while keeping my legs slightly apart and propping myself back on my arms. He continued his prowl until he was kneeling between my knees with both his hands braced beside me.
He edged closer to me, his lips hovering precariously close to mine. A sudden gasp of breath was all I could manage before our lips met.
His right hand steadied my upper back while he held himself up with his left, hovering over me. His chest pressed hot and hard against mine. Our tongues met and tangled together. I struggled for air but couldn’t pull away. He consumed me.

About the Author
Rene Folsom, author of paranormal romance and erotica, lives in Florida with her husband and three kids. She has officially diagnosed herself with creative ADD and, if it weren't for her day job as a web programmer, she would have a million and one writing projects going at once. In addition to web design, she is also a graphic artist who loves to create custom book cover designs for indie authors. She is definitely an artist at heart and would love nothing more than to be elbow deep in clay during her waking hours.
Rene believes that all fiction is based on some form of reality—otherwise we would never have the inspiration or knowledge to dream up the realistic situations we portray with our words. She is proud to say that her personal experiences have been inspirational, though perhaps not always identical to that of her fictional characters. Where reality and fantasy diverge, however, must remain her little secret…
