Savage Beauty Release Blitz

Title: Savage Beauty
Author: Casey L. Bond
Genre: YA Epic Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retelling
Editor: Stacy Sanford/ The Girl with the Red Pen
Cover Designer: Melissa Stevens/ The Illustrated Author Design Services
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:  Once upon a time, a beautiful queen was cursed by a dark faery. That curse, inherited by twin princesses, Aura and Luna, binds their lives in the strangest of ways. At an early age, the girls were more than sisters. They were the strongest of allies until a combination of jealousy, anger and dark magic tore their relationship to shreds.
Aura took everything from Luna: her home, her family, and her love by murdering the prince who’d chosen her instead of Aura.
Luna wants revenge, but she’s running out of time. She must sever the magical bond tying her life to Aura’s before their eighteenth birthday or be bound to her forever. In desperation, she seeks help from a dark fae prince, but the price is steep – a piece of her soul.
Fate is a real witch. Luna was willing to give up anything to stop her sister, until Prince Phillip of Grithim, the brother of the only man she’s ever loved, falls into her life. Neither of them can fight their attraction, despite their guilt.
With Aura hell-bent on destroying everything she holds dear, Luna must decide whether she wants revenge or Phillip. She can’t have both, and in the end, this may be a battle both sisters lose.
**Savage Beauty is a fairy tale retelling of Sleeping Beauty... with fae witches. :)

“I was going to try to hike out of here in the morning. I’m glad you woke, actually. I was hoping you could give me directions?” I would have asked her to lead me to the edge of the dark forest, but she wasn’t what I expected. She hadn’t hurt me yet, but it was clear that she didn’t want me in her home. And I didn’t want to push my luck by staying any longer where I wasn’t welcome.
“Do you have any idea what today is?” she countered.
My God, she was beautiful. I shook my head to clear it. What was significant about today? I had no idea.
“It’s the first day of autumn,” she said dryly. “The equinox. The fae will celebrate. They’ll be hunting in the forest today, and some are very fond of the taste of human flesh.”
Well, damn. I stared at her pointed ears and gulped. “Are you fond of it?”
Her lips curved into a cruel smile. “Not particularly.”
“Should I leave tonight then? Before daylight?”
“It’s midnight. While some are already celebrating, others are already in the wood, waiting for some unsuspecting prey to waltz by.
I watched an unfamiliar emotion roll over her features. “You’ve been my guest, you say? Have you poked your nose anywhere it doesn’t belong?” Her eyes narrowed as she waited for my response.
“I’ve eaten from your garden, slept in your chair, and washed in your creek. I’ve made friends with Cat, whom I will continue to call Cat until you divulge her name. And I’ve tidied things a little. I promise to send food to replace what I took from your garden as soon as I get home.”
Her head ticked to the side. “You cleaned my house?”
“Just the kitchen and sitting room. I kept this door closed as much as I could. It won’t quite shut, and the other door is locked.”
She flicked her eyes at the small gap in the bedroom door and then smiled at me. “I know you weren’t in there.”
“How?”
“Because if you had picked those locks, you wouldn’t be standing in front of me now.”
She left me and Cat behind as she walked out of the room, her footsteps completely quiet. I looked down at my furry friend and she looked up at me and then followed her master. It felt wrong to stay in the young woman’s bedroom, and since I didn’t sense an immediate danger from her, I followed Cat, dabbing at the stinging wound on my neck.
A growl came from the main room just as I stepped into it. “You moved my things.”
“I told you I cleaned,” I defended.
“Yes, well you shouldn’t have touched my things! Now, how will I find what I need?” She scowled at the shelf and the spices arrayed on them.
“They’re in alphabetical order.”
“Alphabe—” Her word faded away as she took in my handiwork. I thought she liked it until she gripped the counter and swiveled her head toward me. “Perhaps now is the perfect time for you to walk through the dark forest.”
“Do you overreact to organized spices and kindness very often, or are you just cranky because you woke from your nap?” I snapped, immediately regretting the words. I wasn’t a coward, but neither did I want to die at the hands of a fae witch.
To my surprise, she didn’t gut me. Instead, a slow smile stretched over her lips, as brilliant as I’d imagined. Not that I’d imagined she had those small fangs...

Annalise's Up and Down Day~ Written by Denise L Jenne: Illustrated by Julie Iannone

***************************************
This story is all about Annalise and her play time, her mommy time and many other aspects of her day.

It is a cute and fast read.  My 8 year old enjoyed it as much as I did.  The illustrations are to the point and very colorful.

Annalise's Up and Down Day is in my own opinion for preschool children and all kids of any age.  If you enjoy a short story with lots of fun, then this is for YOU!

I give this book 5 Totally Narly Moons!!

Behind The Computer by F.L. Jacob

COVER REVEAL
SYNOPSIS:
I’m Sawyer James, best-selling indie author.  There have been so many rumors going around about my model, Caleb Allen, and I that I can’t see straight.  So, instead of sitting back on my hands like I’m told I need to do, let it blow over, and kill everyone with kindness, I’m going to do what I do best, I’m going to write a book about our relationship.
So here it is, our story.  The real story.
Now if you have anything to talk about, you can shove it because this is the truth.
This is the story from behind the computer.
I am a mommy of two, wife to an amazing man, and full-time employee. Life is crazy and busy! I started writing again during a darker time in my life in a group write in a Facebook group. They brought back my passion for writing that I haven’t felt since high school and helped me through hard times.
Starting this process was tedious and nerve-wracking, but my amazing ladies and my fabulous husband have inspired me to take my love for writing to the next step.
My current books are Have I Told You, I Won't Give Up on You, A Very Merry Black Hollywood Christmas, and Give Me All of You, all part of the Black Hollywood Series.   Behind the Computer is a new standalone that is not part of the BH series.  It's a step outside of my comfort zone, but the story hit me like a ton of bricks so I went with it.
Coming 2016, One in a Million. New Characters, New story, Standalone! More information coming soon.

Review of Splintered by A.G. Howard

Splintered
by
A.G. Howard

***NarlyNut's Review***

Alyssa Gardner is not your typical teenager.  She hears and sees things that are beyond her control.  Years ago her mother was subjected to the same type of things that Alyssa experiences.  Only difference for now is that it landed her mother in a mental hospital.

This book is a dark fantasy of Alice In Wonderland and Alyssa will be put through many tests in order to learn for herself what has been going on for generations.  She isn't alone in this fantastical world of talking bugs, a rabbit that is not your typical bunny and Morpheous, her childhood friend that is half moth and half man.   His manipulating ways are a definite understatement.

Her best friend Jeb was probably my favorite character.  He is oh so protective of Alyssa and would do anything for her.  They may even discover feeling for one another that they didn't know they had?

All in all this was a great read.  I was hoping for it to pick up in the beginning, but it took a bit of time.  I loved the dark spin and the world it took us readers in to.
The covers of these books are absolutely FANTABULOUS!  That alone will make you want to pick up this book.

THE DAY HUMAN TRILOGY by B. KRISTIN MCMICHAEL

Title: The Day Human  Trilogy
Author: B. Kristen McMichaels
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Hosted by: Lady Amber's Tours
Blurb: Devin Alexander grew up as the only day human in a world surrounded by night humans who drank blood, sometimes his blood. He spent his life training toward one goal: the protection of one of those blood drinkers, Arianna Grace. But what is he supposed to do when the blue-eyed girl of the legends doesn’t need him anymore? What does his life mean then? How is a guy supposed to move on when the girl he has yearned over for a decade has chosen someone else? Before he can even start to figure out his new life without Arianna, Devin has to deal with another problem. He needs to take care of some unfinished business with a night human he has known for less than a month, but with whom he is magically bound. Vanessa McKinny has promised that she knows a way to undo the spell she placed on Devin to save his life. Devin would do anything to break the bond to be free of her, even if it means traveling to the sidhe village, a place inhabited by a race of night humans that has not had a day human visitor in more than a hundred years. If he doesn’t want to get stuck, he must work with Nessa to find a way to break the bond. Only then can Devin have time to get back to finding his new goal in life, unless he discovers that his path lies with the sidhe.
Blurb: Book Two of The Day Human Trilogy Book Five in The Night Human World An expansion of The Blue Eyes Trilogy After he inherited the power of the late sidhe king, Devin thought the battle to protect Nessa and proceed with her coronation was over. Everyone feared him, and he had the power to do anything in the sidhe world. He was wrong. As problem after problem arises, Nessa and Devin discover that the path to the throne isn’t as simple as they thought. Formalities must be adhered to, preparations must be made, and between all of that, Devin and Nessa must decide what to do with an obviously pregnant Fiona, who won’t name the father of her child. To make matters worse, the elite sidhe are still assassinating each other. No one in the palace is safe. Who is behind the latest deaths, and can the coronation actually occur with all of the drama going on? Devin and Nessa’s road to power might be cut short if they can’t find the answers.
Blurb:
Book Three of The Day Human Trilogy Book Six in The Night Human World Devin thought his stay with the sidhe would be short. That soon changed when he found out that he loved Nessa, but love just might not be enough. She has other suitors, and Devin isn’t sure if he wants to go through that again. Too bad for him, suitors are the least of his problems. On the eve of Nessa’s coronation, Devin finds himself framed for using magic he doesn’t possess. With his sidhe powers he’s the only one who knows that the magic harming people around Nessa comes not from nature, but from the witches. Good thing Devin knows a witch or two himself, but will it be in time to save everything and get Nessa on the throne?
Blurb: Arianna Grace liked her boring, Midwestern, teenage life where she ignored the many unanswered questions of her childhood. Why were her parents dead? Why did she not have family? Where was she raised until she was five? When someone offers to explain it all, Arianna thinks she’s just getting answers. Instead, she is thrown into a world of night humans who drink blood. On Arianna's sixteenth birthday, her world is thrown upside down when she changes into a vampire. Night humans, or demons, as some call them, live in normal society. Learning all of the new rules of a world she didn’t know existed might be hard enough, but it's further complicated by two former-friends that now want to help her take her role as the successor to her grandfather. There is a war going on between the night humans. Sides have been taken and lines are not crossed. Four main clans of night humans are struggling for control of the night. Divided into two sides, clans Baku and Tengu have been at war for centuries with the clans Dearg-dul and Lycan. That is, until Arianna Grace finds out the truth; she’s the bridge of peace between the two sides. But not everyone wants peace. With the night humans divided, Arianna is now a pawn in the war between them. She must choose a side—her mother’s family or her father’s—and for once in her life, decide her own fate.

The Day Human Way
Excerpt from The Day Human Prince
Nessa pulled back in horror at what she had just done. She had drunk blood from a living day human. She had never in her life fed on a live human before. It was completely different than drinking blood from a cup. It was warmer, fresher. It tasted much better. However, she wasn’t willing to admit that to Devin. As she pulled back and savored the new taste, she was still wrapped in Devin’s arms. He was studying her intently, and she blushed from the proximity. Everything about drinking his blood was different. Drinking blood from a human was much more intimate than she’d ever imagined.
Devin didn’t let go of her right away. He stared at her, analyzed her, and the gleam in his eyes were unnerving. He wasn’t scared of her, or the fact that she’d just bit him and drained some of his blood. In fact, he was concerned about her. Nessa wanted to wiggle away, but there was nowhere to go. She glanced back at him, and found that he’d let her go far enough back that he could examine the wound.
Once he was sure she was fine, Devin slid across the middle of the car, over to his seat. He started up the engine and backed up in the parking lot, backing up further than he needed to go. He paused, peering out of Nessa’s window at the wayside bench. The shadow he had described was still there. Devin stared across the sparsely-lit parking lot at the assassin, and it was as if he didn’t just see the shadow, but the actual person. When Nessa looked out and didn’t see anything, she turned back to Devin.
The marks from her teeth slowly faded from his neck, and she felt them appear on her own. The bonding had made it so that his wounds would transfer to her since she had the ability to instantly heal when properly fed. As quickly as they appeared on her, they were gone. She had the stronger blood of the two of them, but as he gave a nod to the invisible foe, she would never admit it to him. Something about the nod he gave to the unseen assassin told her she wasn’t the stronger one of the pair. Devin Alexander was an amazing day human and so different than she ever imagined.

I, Mary by Mike Hartner

NarlyNut's Reivew of I, Mary
I give this book 5 Totally Narly Moons!

This story is set in the 1600's during the English Crown.  Historical romance has never been my forte' until this series.  I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in the series.

Mary Crofter is the daugther of James Crofter.  We have heard of James in I, James and his adventures on the high seas.  Mary's grandfather is Walter from I, Walter.  I, Mary is the third installment of The Eternity Series.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Mary.  She is anxious and ready to embark upon her own journey and sail upon the sea as well.

At the young age of 12 she sets sail and stops at nothing less than learning as everyone else, pulling her own weight and becoming a very strong and fearless female sailor.  Being a part of the crew and sailing on the ship her family owns, Mary never wanted to be treated any different from any of the other male sailors.

Upon her sails she meets the love of her life Andrew.  The love story between these two is one for the history books.  They are devoted to their children and helping others along the way.  Will Mary one day have to make the decision to leave her love of sailing?  You must read to find out!!

My tears fell at the end of this historical romance.   It left me with a peace that is is unexplainable.

It never ceases to amaze me at how swept away I am when I read another one of Mike Hartner's books.  Mike's detail and history in this book are impressive to say the least.

I am hoping Mr. Hartner has more adventures up his sleeve,  I feel that I will never get enough of this family and their stories to tell.
